Portland Cement (4)
Portland Cement is manufactured from a mixture of raw materials including limestone, alumina, silica, and iron that are ground between rollers into a fine powder and then heated to temperatures up to +1,450°C to form clinker. This is then cooled and ground for a final time, before being mixed with other additives including gypsum to form a fine powder.
Our range of Portland cement is manufactured by Hanson and Parex and includes a wide range of options including ordinary portland cement (OPC), Multicem, low alkali and fast setting mortars that are best suited to rapid repairs. Ideal for use with bricks and building blocks, Portland cement hardens quickly and creates a waterproof barrier that does not allow vapour to escape, making it more suited to modern construction methods (as opposed to Lime).
