Carcassing Timber (11)
Carcassing timber, also referred to as ‘rough sawn’ timber, is primarily used to create floor joists, rafters, purlins and timber framing in structural applications (dependent on size). Grown in environments that cause a slower growth rate and tighter grain, this provides higher levels of strength and stability.
Sourced from sustainable forests and Chain of Custody certified, the majority of our timber is visually graded to C16 in accordance with BS 4978. It is most commonly supplied with a smooth finish and eased edges that ensures consistent uniformity, while also being comfortable to handle. It can be treated in a range of options including Pre-vac to prevent against dry rot in internal environments, or in Naturewood Brown or Green for ground contact applications.

We can also supply C24 carcassing on request if a higher quality section is required, as well as a range of joist hangers and woodscrews.
